Woodson ISD Text Message Opt-In Policy

This page explains how staff, parents, and community members give consent to receive text messages (SMS or MMS) from Woodson Independent School District. These messages are limited to school-related notifications such as event reminders, schedule changes, safety alerts, and other official district communications. No marketing or promotional content is ever sent.

How Individuals Opt In

  • By Text: Text START, YES, or SUBSCRIBE to the district’s official messaging number to give consent.
  • Verbal Consent: District staff may record verbal consent when communicating with parents, guardians, or employees. The date, time, and phone number are logged as proof of consent.
  • Enrollment Forms: During school registration or information updates, families may provide a phone number and check the box authorizing text-message notifications.

Message Frequency

Messages are sent only as needed to provide important school information. Typical frequency is fewer than 10 messages per month.

Opt-Out Procedure

To stop receiving messages, reply STOP at any time. You will receive one confirmation text verifying that you have been unsubscribed. To resume receiving notifications, reply START or YES.
